No, I don't know what's with the sudden obsession with titles that begin with "on".
The other day I worked from 10:15 in the morning to 4:15 in the afternoon. We were blissfully slow for most of the day, to the point where I almost felt guilty for the amount of people I had on the floor to serve the .4 customers that we had per half hour. And just when I was secure in the fact that it was Really Slow, well I guess I sent a message to the world because all of the sudden everyone within a 20 mile radius decided that, you know, I really need that Venti Caramel Frappuccino with one pump mocha one pump almond and two pumps of cinnamon with extra caramel, no more than that, just take the top off, there you go, can I get some mocha on that too please? Wait, it's cold? I didn't know it was cold. You said it was blended with ice, you mentioned nothing of it being cold! And so it went. Around an hour into this 4:15 decided to laugh me in the face and turn into 5:00 at which point I said, no, no more, I am leaving right this very second.
A friend came in during this madness. Yes he picked that right moment to walk in the door and see me covered in syrup and milk with my hair everywhere my apron askew and probably in 14 different shades of red for my frazzlement. Perfect, really, because he couldn't have picked a time when I would be able to slow down my speech to some a level where you could understand it as English. Anyway, we made tentative plans for hanging out later. We ended up eating at the restaurant where my sister works, and had the exact service you would expect when the restaurants full and your sister is the server. Afterwards we hung out for a bit as his place with some of his friends. I had a fantastic time but did you know that I'm really shy? I did! It was good, though, everyone was lovely and fun, I just wish I wasn't quite so introverted at the occasion. Oh, and that I didn't spill that drink on the carpet. Oops.
